YMCA Camp Wapsie Day Camp programs offer a variety of outdoor activities similar to those at Overnight Camp, including a Thursday overnight at Wapsie! Day Camp provides a positive social experience with similar-aged youth. Campers return home in the evening for important family time and evening activities. Part of the day on Wednesdays will be spent at Pinicon Ridge Park in Central City, and Camp will provide all meals for the day. Camp Wapsie runs nine, one-week sessions of Day Camp.
Day Troopers Camp
(Youth Entering 1st Grade - 4th Grade)
Day Troopers spend days at Camp Wapsie with a mid-week special trip to Pinicon Ridge Park in Central City. They’ll visit the elk pen, playground & trails at the park. A highlight is the Thursday overnight stay at Wapsie and the off-site trip to Pinicon Ridge Park. Wapsie will provide all meals while enrolled in the program.
Day Trekkers Camp
(Youth Entering 5th Grade - 8th Grade)
The Trekkers, along with their counselors, have more flexibility to create their own schedules which can include: climbing the tower, horseback riding, all camp activities or specialized activities. All meals are included and Trekkers enjoy a Thursday night overnight stay!

Day Camp Themes
Thursdays are special themed days with activities related to the theme. Wapsie transforms into another world with special events and themed activities to help campers express their creative side. Costumes are welcome but not necessary.
