Child Care

School Age Child Care for Before & After School

During these times, our YMCA continues to offer our child care services.  We are currently operating child care at our Stoney Point YMCA and Echo Hill Elementary School.  There are strict procedures in place in order to provide the safest environment possible for the kiddos and staff.

Discounted fees for School-Age Child Care are available to YMCA members.

NEW! Virtual Learning Care

Stoney Point YMCA

The Stoney Point YMCA is offering care and supervision during the day for middle school students that need assistance with virtual learning.  There is a dedicated YMCA staff member from 6:30 AM to 5:30 PM each day Monday through Friday.  The staff member ensures students stay on task, stay logged in, and offer assistance with school work.

You must apply and be approved for this service (not a drop-in program).  Students must be signed out by a parent at the end of each day. This is not a free service – the YMCA is able to accept DHS subsidy.

If you are interested in hearing more about the opportunity or wish to request signing up, you may contact Tanisha Phelps, Director of Child Services, at (319) 366 6421 ext 102 or at  Space is limited!

Our program revolves around the Y's three key areas of youth development, healthy living and social responsibility.

Designed to activate your kid’s imagination and encourage the lifelong core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility, the program also delivers a nutritious breakfast and afternoon snack every day.

Our dedicated and well-trained staff plans a diverse slate of activities:
  • Team sports
  • Arts and crafts
  • Opportunities for kids to give input and help create a great experience

Thanks to the YMCA Annual Campaign, financial assistance is available until it runs out for those who qualify. The Annual Campaign provides assistance to families right here in our area.  Want to know more? Contact the YMCA.
